Have you ever looked at a really good picture of someone that you knew was going to die relatively soon and thought "looking at this picture makes me really happy right now, but I wonder how looking at it will feel in a couple of years."

that's a bummer. sorry to bum you out. Things are really awesome otherwise, I promise.

Hi 5 people that still livejournal. I'm still alive. It's cold in Memphis. Today I bought a table. Life seems boring on the surface, but there is lots of happy and unhappy things going on that I'm not going to talk about here. suck on it!

haven't been blogging at all lately. myspace is always crashing my damn computer. eff that ess.

HEY! I live in memphis now. Sorta. I'm in a hotel for a week or two until I can snag a rad place for April and I. Next week will be our two and a half year anniversary. Time flies eh? Maybe I should take a trip down livejournal memory lane and remember what a terrible boyfriend I was at certain points over the last 8 years. Or not.

Hope you are doing well lijveournalx.

hooray! In the next 36 hours I will:
know if I'm moving to either Memphis or Boston
buy a Novation Bass Station
and figure out if my boss hates me 4ever.

Last night I joined another band and partied with dudes. That was kind of awesome.

4.5 months without an update. Sorry people. It's just too much right now. Things are amazing. I'm moving in with my ladyfriend.

Today I looked at my box of memories/stuff/trinkets. I put it all into a bigger box and it was like looking at my life in reverse order.

Tons of Euphie stuff > flyers from Texas shows > flyers from Georgia shows > letters from Roxane > letters from Melissa, Ben, Mike Taylor > rave flyers > letters from Becky.

Man to child. ashes to ashes.

April's looking forward to having her first pet. I think Jo Jo is up to the task. Was hoping for a little more room for the kitkat, but it'll do. I had the most comfortable naps ever yesterday with both my person-love and cat-love. Rock.

Job hunting, weddings, and rock n roll shows coming up soon too.

This routine that I'm in. Is bad.

I spend all my day trapped in an office, then all night trapped in my apartment.

No one calls me except for my girlfriend. If I didn't love the shit out of her and my cat, I'd be going fucking nuts these days.

’Both times Dark Meat sucked the audience into its rapturous rock spectacle — partly because with so many people onstage, there’s already a good faction of the club that digs them. And partly because with so much happening during their shows, they were chaos within a chaotic festival — albeit chaos with a sense of humor. "This song’s about a time I fucked up," announced one bearded singer on Saturday night. "It’s called ’Well, Fuck You Then."’
Jennifer Maerz - SF Weekly

Chaos with a sense of humor. Are people really going to buy into this? I’ve always wanted to be in a band that was doing something new, yet in some ways, I’ve joined this army (tribe) that is only doing something old, but doing that everything old packed into the same instant. We are rock n roll that the punks, hippies, chin-strokers, backpackers, metalheads, and frat boys should hate as much as they love. We are confusing and messy and unhip. It’s as hilarious and awful as it is irresistable.

I’ve always been someone who juxtaposed extremes. I’m shy and belligerent. I’m a genius and totally clueless. I’m very serious and bouncing off the walls.

This musical project might be the first thing I’ve ever done that truly taps into my dual nature (cancer/gemini?) In that sense, it is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

And who knows... if we can all keep our sanity, maybe we’ll be the next Guns N’ Roses, or Mothers of Invention, or Grateful Dead, or

days fall off of my new 2008 cat calendar. Haven't heard anything about jobs yet. 6 rejections letters out of 34 applications, and only one rejection from a school I was excited about (Texas A&M). Sometimes I am resigned and optimistic about staying in Denton for another year, other times (like when I see [info]actionchrist excited about his impending new job and the excellent times he has with super old friends) I want to run from this town screaming.

I have almost completed all of the exercises in a Fortran programming book. Now on to actually writing some code that is useful for chemistry.

What is my role in this silly life? At least I have found love and a record contract.

I used to be able to run 10 miles in a day, and now when I run 1.25, I sweat all of the liquid I've consumed in the last 24 hours that remains in my body and I feel really dizzy.

In one month from today, the biggest week of my professional career will end, and then the biggest two weeks of my musical career will begin.

Last night I had an insane dream involving searching the campus of Ann Arbor for my deceased cat, Cheech and Chong wrestling each other, and anal sex. Luckily these three subject matters were completely separate within the dream.

Michael and Betsy were in town. We had some cajun food and caught up. This last month, I've been lucky to have so much time with old friends.

I sold them on a Wii. Maybe I should work for Nintendo and go into sales. Almost everyone who I have talked to or invited over wants one now. It took one conversation with my sister to make her get one the next day. ha!

Say what?! [12 Jun 2007|04:39pm]
It's all come full circle.

Greg Norton, mustachioed bass player for punk legends Husker Du has formed a band called The Gang Font. The keyboard player is Craig Taborn of Art Ensemble of Chicago/Innerzone Orchestra fame!!!

Detroit techno + math rock = !@#@!#@!#@#!@$!@$#@%
